Being two of the largest entertainment service providers in the country, it makes sense to set up a combination of Xfinity Stream and Roku TV, as together, they offer you a steady, uninterrupted flow of entertainment.
However, there was this issue I ran into a couple of weeks ago, where my Xfinity Stream completely stopped working on the brand new Roku TV I had bought.
Naturally, I got pretty riled up seeing this, as I was being deprived of entertainment on my off day.
I immediately jumped online to find a way to fix the issue, and it turns out many people around the country had experienced the same problem.
In this article, I have wrapped up all the different methods I learnt to fix this issue, in case you stumbled upon the same snag too.

The reason for Xfinity not being able to stream correctly on Roku could be a problem with your internet connection, cables, or even not selecting the correct settings on the TV.
It could be a temporal issue with Roku or Xfinity Stream that can be fixed easily by a simple restart or a server-side error that is entirely out of your hands.
Below listed are the different methods by which you can identify and fix the issue to your maximum capacity.
Check Internet Connection
When streaming media, you need to ensure that your network connection is functioning correctly and responds quickly.
A slow or inconsistent internet connection could be why the Xfinity Stream channels aren’t working correctly.

Moreover, make sure that there is no object between the remote and the set-top box of the TV that could be obstructing the signal from either device.
Restart Your Router
In case some temporal network problems persist, you might want to try restarting your modem/router.
All you have to do is turn off the router and unplug the cable, then give it a few minutes and plug it back in.
It is good to perform this action every now and then to prevent poor connectivity and high latency.
Try Using an Ethernet Connection
Using an ethernet cable to link your router with the device may help solve the problem by establishing a more robust network connection.
There’s no denying that an ethernet connection offers significantly faster internet speed compared to a WiFi connection and hence provides a more optimal streaming experience.
Log Out and Log Back Into the Xfinity App
Logging out and back into the Xfinity app may fix any temporal issues within the Roku TV by refreshing the streamflow.
Doing this will also fix any general issues related to your account.

- Go to Settings

Move the Router to a Better Location
The best way to try and solve a temporal network issue is to reposition your router closer to the receiving device.
The closer the two are, the faster and more robust will be the network connection.
It is recommended that the router and the Roku device are at least in the same room, with no kind of obstacle blocking their line of sight with each other.
Uninstall and Reinstall the Xfinity Stream App
If signing out and back into the Xfinity app doesn’t seem to fix the issue for you, you should go ahead and try uninstalling the Xfinity Stream app from Roku.
Removing the application will dispose of any glitches in the application.
On reinstalling the Xfinity app back onto the Roku device, you will not only receive the latest updates pre-downloaded for the app but also possibly fix the issue of media streaming.
You can even try watching it on Chrome, but sometimes Xfinity Stream doesn’t work on Chrome either.
Update Your Roku
It is entirely plausible that you could be using an outdated version of software on your Roku device, which could be preventing the stream from working as it should be.
To verify this, head over to the settings tab on your Roku and navigate to Software Update.
Click on Check for Updates to search whether a newer version of firmware is out there and if there is, install it right away.
Contact Roku Support
If you tried all the above methods, and if the stream still refuses to show up, then it’s probably time to contact Xfinity Support and Roku Support.
I recommend explaining to them all the different ways in which you already tried to fix the problem, just to prevent them from wasting time trying the same methods again.

Keep in mind that you could be using an older version of the Roku device, which inherently does not support Xfinity Stream, and hence would require you to purchase a new model.
The issue could also be out of your hands and could be an error on the company’s side.
