This easy homemade peach cobbler recipe is made with fresh sweet peaches, topped with a cookie-like cobbler topping and baked to perfection in a cast iron skillet.

This classic southern peach cobbler layers the fruit on top of the batter before baking. The sweet batter rises up over the peaches as it bakes in the oven creating a light and airy topping that tastes like heaven!
This easy peach cobbler recipe is always a favorite, but fresh peach crisp for two, a nice frozen peach moscato smoothie, and grilled peach and arugula pizza are right up there vying for top spot!

- Fresh peaches – cut into quarter-inch slices
- Granulated white sugar
- One stick of butter
- All-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Ground cinnamon
- Kosher salt
- Milk – at room temperature
- 10-inch cast iron skillet or 2-quart baking dish

How to make Peach Cobbler
Preheat oven to 375° F. Place your peach slices into a large bowl and sprinkle with a half-cup granulated sugar. Stir to thoroughly coat the peaches with the sugar and set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, three-quarter cup of sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and milk, and set aside.
Melt a half cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter in a cast iron skillet.
Pour the batter over the melted butter –do not stir!
Now very carefully spoon the peach filling over the batter including the peach juices –do not stir!
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until crust is lightly golden brown and puffy.
Allow to cool for a bit, then serve this delicious cobbler with a scoop ofVanilla Ice Cream or fresh whipped cream.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sliced, fresh peaches I used 4 peaches, and I peeled them first which is optional
- 0.5 cup granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter 1 stick
- .75 cups all-purpose flour
- .75 cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- .25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- .25 teaspoon salt
- .75 cups milk regular or non-dairy at room temperature
